My work is very much led by the material.  The more I work with material the better the relationship becomes, whereby it almost becomes submissive and the work reveals itself to me slowly, over the period of time I am working with it.
These pieces of work are figurative and the figures have transpired into a gathering of insubstantial fallacies.
The figures almost appear as apparitions as they become quick sketches done with the same urgency and rawness of a spontaneous drawing.
My specialism is sculpture and I have had a number of commissions and residencies in the region since 2000.  I am committed to exhibiting and recently sited a temporary work at the Botanical Gardens in Durham.

Currently I am working within HMP Frankland teaching art, building on my experience at Bridge Women’s Education Centre.  In 2007 with academic support I established a Foundation Degree within HMP Frankland, which in a high security prison is the first of its kind in this country.
