Shannon Clegg

Shannon is a mixed media artist whose work is site responsive, concentrating on the ever-changing relationship between nature and people. Her practice is rooted in craft traditions but reinterpreted to construct contemporary mixed media sculptural pieces that reflect current thinking on global and local environmental issues.
Shannon graduated with a first degree in Contemporary Crafts, BA (Hons) from Falmouth University College in 2007. After graduating she was awarded the Crafts Council Next Move Scheme to be artist in resident at Sunderland University over a 2 year period. It was during this time she set up her practise in the North East and developed the body of work 'Out of site'. A response to the treatment of the natural environment amidst the post industrial landscape of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

She has participated in various exhibitions in England, teaches ceramics and leads workshops in schools and community groups.
